Dublin-based ASL Aviation rebrands its airlines

Irish-based ASL Aviation Group is rebranding its four Irish and European airlines.

The group, whose head offices are in Swords, Co Dublin, is rebranding Air Contractors in Ireland, Europe Airpost in France and Farnair in Switzerland and Hungary as ASL Airlines.

Chief executive, Hugh Flynn, said that a strong single brand would make it easier to use its European fleet's aircraft across individual countries.

ASL is one of the leading freight carriers in Europe. It also operates the Shannon-to-New York and Boston and Dublin-to-Toronto services under contract with Aer Lingus.

It owns Safair in South Africa, where it operates Hercules craft used in humanitarian missions on the continent.

As a result of its purchase of of Farnair last year, the group acquried stakes in K-Mile in Thailand and Quikjet in India. It employs 1,500 people.

Along with the re-brand it is planning to open four centres of excellence aimed at cutting costs and increaseing safety and reliability.
